What’s on Hulu: American Gothic
Way back in 1995, Shaun Cassidy (yep, the 70’s teen idol guy) created and executive produced this series about supernatural goings on in a small town in the deep south. It starred versatile actor Gary Cole (Crusade and of course Lumberg from Office Space) as the sinister sheriff of the town who everybody seemed to owe a debt to. The series was quite original for Prime Time television and delivered an excellent and engaging horror/mystery tale with on ongoing story arc. Both Gary Cole and Lucas Black as the sheriff’s ten year old adversary Caleb Temple stood out in their roles and made this into a rare and excellent genre drama. Unfortunately, it only lasted a single season and did not wrap up all of its story arcs. Still, it did manage to resolve most of the storylines before its final episode. Hulu has all 22 episodes available for viewing and if you have never seen this show we highly recommend that you give it a try.
